Astronomer
Astronomers use advanced mathematics and physics to develop theories about outer space and the universe. Some examine the spectrum of light that comes from stars and planets to determine the basic elements of which they consist. They study the cold environment of space, movement of planetary bodies, dark matter, black holes, space dust, birth of new stars, and supernovas. They work with powerful telescopes and sophisticated computer programs and models to interpret data.
