Geologist

Geologists study the earth's structure and materials, how they have changed over time and how they are likely to change in the future. They are employed across the private sector, the government and at universities. Some geologists will study the earth's processes—earthquakes, floods, and volcanic eruptions—and determine the location and design of man-made structures to keep them safe from natural disasters. Others may study rocks and minerals, the history of the earth through fossils or new ways to drill for oil and other natural sources of energy.
