Perfusionist

Perfusionists, also known as blood specialists or pump technicians, keep patients alive during surgery by monitoring heart and lung machines. They allow the cardiac surgeon to operate on an unbeating heart. They also monitor patients on life support and help premature infants during breathing difficulties.
