Quality Assurance is a vital step in the software development process. Software engineers hand the newly developed or updated software to the "QA" department for testing. Quality assurance specialists vigorously test the software for every contingency, essentially trying to "break it". They identify bugs and design flaws which they document and send to the engineers and managers. Software must pass the quality assurance process before it is released.
