Medical Assistant
Medical assistants have a wide range of responsibilities that differ depending on where they work. They may be responsible for office management and record keeping or they may work directly with patients. Medical assistants save doctors time by meeting with patients initially, collecting information on medical history, and measuring vital signs. Some work as liaisons to insurance companies, labs, and x-ray technicians. They may specialize or they may be generalists, but in short medical assistants perform any task that ensures the smooth functioning of the office or clinic.
