Materials Engineer

Materials Engineers play a critical role in product development. They study materials such as plastics, metals or composites in great depth and detail under a microscope and with the help of computers. They study how strong certain materials are and how they will withstand various forces. Most Materials Engineers specialize in one type of material–metallurgical engineer, ceramic engineer–and may work for the government or private industry.
