Nuclear Technician

Assist physicists and engineers in research and production of nuclear reactors, fuels, medicines, and other technologies. Monitor levels of radiation (taking all precautions to avoid over-exposure). Ensure safe operation of reactors and other equipment. Evaluate equipment function by monitoring factors such as temperature, pressure and radiation intensity. Monitor the disposal, recycling, and storage of nuclear waste. Raise warning levels under hazardous conditions.
